netSCOPE, Nextel and NASCAR.com Team Up, Transmit GarageCam Images From Lowe’s Motor Speedway

Nextel 4G Wireless Broadband Gets Test Drive

CHARLOTTE, NC - For two full weeks, NASCAR fans can view the heartbeat of racing, the garages at Lowe’s Motor Speedway, via broadband service. That’s because netSCOPE, Inc., long-time provider of GarageCam images to NASCAR.com, is now using Nextel’s 4G wireless broadband to transmit images.

Broadband has advantages over traditional dial-up access. Nextels 4G service operates at 1.2 mps, updating images in three seconds, five times faster than the standard system.

The system was launched over the last weekend to broadcast garage activity around the Nextel Challenge race; it will conclude this weekend after the Coca Cola 600 race.

netSCOPE provides webcasting technologies to NASCAR.com, Turner Sports Interactive and Charleston County Aviation Authority, among others. GarageCam service is now in its third consecutive year.

netSCOPE serves more than four million page views each race weekend; GarageCams draw more than 150,000 NASCAR fans each month.
